Do I need any prior musical background to join?
Absolutely not! Our Beginner course (Swara Prabodh) starts from the very basics — from understanding the 7 swaras (Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni) to basic breathing and voice exercises. All you need is a passion for music and commitment to regular riyaz (practice).
What equipment or instruments do I need for online classes?
For online vocal classes, you primarily need a stable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone (laptop or smartphone works fine), and a quiet space to sing in. For advanced students, having access to a harmonium or tanpura is beneficial for riyaz, but we can guide you on apps and tanpura software alternatives in the early stages.
How long does it take to learn Indian Classical Music?
Indian Classical Music is a lifelong journey — even masters continue learning! However, with consistent riyaz, most students can sing simple ragas and compositions within 6–12 months of beginner training. To develop real depth in the art form, students typically dedicate 3–5 years of regular practice and guidance.
What is the difference between live classes and recorded courses?
Live classes are real-time one-on-one sessions with our teacher conducted via video call — ideal for serious learners needing instant feedback and corrections. Recorded courses are pre-filmed lessons you can study at your own pace, anytime, and revisit as many times as needed. Many students combine both for the best experience.
Are classes available for children? What is the minimum age?
Yes! We have a specially designed Kids Music Foundation course for children aged 6–14 years. The curriculum is fun, engaging, and age-appropriate — using storytelling and games to introduce notes, rhythms, and simple compositions. Children often develop musical sensibility very quickly, and early training lays a wonderful foundation.

What ragas and musical styles are covered in your curriculum?
Our curriculum covers Hindustani Classical music including popular ragas like Bhairav, Yaman, Bhairavi, Kafi, Khamaj, and Bihag. Students learn Khayal gayaki (Vilambit and Drut), Thumri, Dadra, Bhajan, and light classical forms. Advanced students also study Raga grammar, Rasa theory, and Taal mastery including Teentaal, Ektaal, Rupak, and Jhaptaal.
